WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT IAPT

Testimonials

“When I first met my employment advisor I was in a difficult place. Many years ago I had self-harmed at/due to work and could feel my mood dropping again. I didn't want to go back to that place so reached out for support for my mental health. When my therapist told me about the employment team it was a great relief. It really helped to have someone who both understood the challenges around mental health without judgment and could provide clear and practical support to improve my work situation.

They were knowledgeable about how to manage my health at work and provided guidance on specific employment related topics

My employment advisor has helped me resolve my current workplace difficulties and provide information advice and guidance that empowered me to make informed decisions.

I have decided to find alternative employment and with the help of my advisor am reviewing my transferable skills, what I want to do and ways in which I can select the right employer and working environment.

I’m grateful for the support that I have received and would encourage others to reach out for support”

Tara has really helped me to see my pre-existing skills and achievements are attractive to employers. She has inspired me to actually apply for new jobs, and not just look at them. Tara has helped me to feel less disheartened by the pandemic and to stop thinking that I won’t get another job because of the pandemic. Tara has helped me to see that my anxiety won’t get in the way of me working so long as I’m working for a a decent company doing something I enjoy.

I couldn’t have asked for better support. I always looked forward to speaking with Max. He made me feel heard, always understood my point of view and gave incredible advice that I was able to put in place. This came at such a low and anxious time in my life and I just couldn’t see a way forward. Following the support I received, I’m now back at work full time and making amazing progress. I couldn’t have imagined being in this position 3 months ago. I’m so grateful to Max for getting me here!

Sarah

The balance of listening with practical advice and empathy was invaluable. This has been one of the toughest experiences of my life and I am truly grateful for the support.

“This was a service that I feel I've needed for a long time. I had a complicated situation with my previous workplace where I felt like there was no support and was being pushed out. It was a toxic environment and my adviser really helped guide me through a tough period. I decided to leave that place and take time to really consider what I wanted to do. My adviser was very accommodating and allowed me time to get my mental health back to a sustainable level. Now we are working on an action plan to get me a job in an industry I want to work in and I'm looking forward to getting to looking for a new job and start, something that hasn't been there for years. “

“Although I was stressed, I was reassured, and given great advice not only about work but how to manage my day-to-day activities to alleviate stress and other factors that impacted stress in my life and performance at work. Max remained patient when i was going through so much and listened to and understood and helped me design a strategy tool to move forward with work and just life and through that i obtained a new job role. Very grateful for the service Max provided.
